What is dimension of physical quantity?(NDA)

Dimensions of a physical quantity are the powers to which the fundamental quantities are raised to represent the unit of that physical quantity.

e.g., density =mass/Volume = (mass) (length)

Thus, the dimensions of density are 1 in mass and -3 in length. The expression of a physical quantity in terms of its dimensions is called its dimensional tormula. e.g., the dimensional formula of density is [ML-3] and that for force is [MLT-2].
